Why use a garden designer?
Why not do it myself?
If you want to build a house, you use an architect for his/her education and experience. Your garden deserves the same professional approach. (And don't forget that a well designed garden also increases the value of your house!)
How fast can you design a new garden?
The design process normally takes about 3 weeks.
Where do you source/organize plants?
Locally, at wholesale nurseries.
Which plants to you prefer?
Those which grow easily, do not require much, if any, maintenance, and are ideally sited and suited.
What makes a good design?
When there is a clear connection between your house and your garden, physically and stylistically. When every single day regardless of the season you are driven to explore your garden again - and you find that even the furthest corner is interesting.
What colors will you use in my garden?
Your favorites. You decide the color palette and I create eye-catching plantings that are well-suited to their location.
What do you think of sculptures in my garden?
Art in the garden creates atmosphere, interest, even excitement. It’s a wonderful gesture and naturally sets a tone.
I would like to have water in my garden. What do you suggest?
Water is a versatile design element--the sound of running water in a small stream, the reflection of water on your walls, the soothing flow of it over a smooth dark surface... I especially love natural ponds.
What are your costs?
I bill for an initial meeting, and after that I charge an hourly rate. For precise quotes, please give me a call!
